When we are talking about international trade activities, product compliance is one specific topic that manufacturers should pay more attention to. Sometimes conducting product compliance activities is challenging for manufacturers. Therefore, product compliance experts will definitely help the manufacturers to tackle those challenges. Dimulti as a product compliance expert for DJID certification can help manufacturers overcome the complexities of certification process for telecommunications device in Indonesia.
In this article we will discuss about the inquiry process of DJID certification in Dimulti.
Why DJID certification expert is important?
Based on the regulation of PERMEN KOMINFO No 3 year 2024, it is stated that every telecommunications device that made or imported for the purpose of being used and/or marketed in Indonesia have to meet technical requirements through a product certification called DJID certification.
Many manufacturers are still not familiar with DJID certification process. The limitations that manufacturers have such as local language barrier or accuracy of information are some challenge that occur when they first dig into the DJID certification process.
Dimulti as DJID certification expert can make the certification process simpler and easier for manufacturers. We have been in the industry for almost 17 years, so we can deliver accurate information regarding the DJID certification process in Indonesia.
Brief to DJID certification process
The process is started by evaluating all specification of the product. Therefore, manufacturers are expected to share all information or documents related to their product in the early stage. This information is important for Dimulti team to find out whether or not the product is required to do DJID certification.
If the product is required to do the DJID certification, then Dimulti team will inform the available methods for processing the DJID certification. Basically, there are two methods available for processing DJID certification, the first one is local testing and the second one is paperwork (foreign document evaluation).
Both methods basically require the same documents, and one of the important documents for DJID certification process is the test reports. The two certification method is differentiated based on the origin of the test reports. This difference will also differentiate the certificate price and overall certification process.
However, before the DJID certification is carried out, it is important for manufacturers to have a local company in Indonesia that acts as an importer or distributor of their products. The relationship between the manufacturer and the Indonesian local company must be proven by an MOU document or distributor agreement. This document will also be required during the DJID certification process.
Cost components of DJID certification

After after knowing a little bit about certification process, now we can move to the cost section. As previously mentioned, the origin of test reports will determine the price of the certificate.
The price of a certificate for an foreign test report is much more expensive than a local test report. However, by using an foreign test report, manufacturers are not required to do any testing process in Indonesia. On the other hand, the certificate price for a local test report is indeed cheaper, but it is necessary to conduct sample testing in Indonesia.
Basically, cost components of DJID certification will depend on the product’s specifications. So, the breakdown cost item can vary from one product to another. Here are all the cost components that might appear during the inquiry process.
- RF test: this cost arises for the needs of conducting RF testing. The more RF features are tested, the higher the RF testing cost will be.
- EMC test: this cost arises for the needs of conducting EMC testing. Overall, the EMC testing parameters are radiated emission, conducted emission at terminal power, and conducted emission at telecom port. The total cost of EMC test depends on the type of product power supply and whether or not there is a telecom port.
- Electrical safety test: this cost arises for the needs of conducting electrical safety testing. The obligation of electrical safety test is generally for products supplied by direct AC power or AC/DC power adapters.
- SAR test: this cost arises for the needs of conducting SAR testing. The obligation of SAR test is only for smartphones and tablet computers. Currently, only test reports from local labs are accepted by DJID for SAR requirements.
- Laser Safety test: this cost arises for the needs of conducting laser safety testing. The obligation of laser safety test is only for switch or router devices that have SFP ports.
- Certificate fee: the price of the certificate will depend on the origin of the test result report.
- Service fee: our service fee already covers the handling fee for each testing process including the pre-test process for the RF testing parameters.
Testing costs may not occur when the DJID certification is processing under the paperwork method. Therefore, generally the cost components are the certificate and service fee only.
